88.9 FM WDNA PUBLIC RADIO > Shows > Cubaneando

Hosted by Viviam Lopez

Listen Wednesday 7pm-8pm

Cuba has developed a wide range of creolized musical styles, based on its cultural origins in Europe and Africa. It has over seventy unique musical genres, more than any other country in the world. Cuban music has been hugely popular and important throughout the global landscape, and is perhaps the most popular form of world music since the introduction of recording technology.

Through this new show, “Cubaneando,” host Viviam Maria Lopez spreads the musical word by expanding and exploring the the genres and performers of Cuban music, and ignites a renewed passion among listeners for this special art form.
