Fine Arts Concert with Mario Pavone & Rick Seguso
WDNA proudly presents the Mario Pavone Arc Trio, live in concert, at its next Fine Arts Concert! Lead by bassist, Mario Pavone, this concert will offer guests a rare opportunity to experience a true master in action. Sophisticated Jazz fans and aficionados will no doubt delight in the extraordinary gift that is Mario Pavone.
Critically acclaimed by the New Yorker Magazine, The Village Voice, the New York Times, and All About Jazz, among others, Pavone maintains his grip as one of the world's foremost bassists. His career spans five decades, anchoring the trios of Paul Bley, Bill Dixon, and the late Thomas Chapin. With dozens of recordings to his credit and countless collaborations with many of the industry's A-listers Pavone is a vessel from which potent music flows. His performance in the WDNA Jazz Gallery will be an up close and personal affair, and he will be accompanied by two of South Florida's best jazz musicians - Brian Murphy on Piano, and Arturo Garcia on drums.
"Musicians on Canvas" by Rick Seguso
The evening also features an art exhibition by renowned painter, Rick Seguso, titled "Musicians on Canvas." Influenced by his grandfather, who created iconic posters for movie giants MGM, Untied Artists and 20th Century Fox, Seguso is a champion of the "Glazing Technique," a style often overlooked by modern day artists. He's also a musician who among other things served as road manager for legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen. He's famous for his evocative images of musicians and some of his favorite subjects will be unveiled at the Fine Arts Concert.
Don't miss all-inclusive evening of live jazz by the Mario Pavone Arc Trio, exhibition by Rick Seguso and catered cuisine by Brio Tuscan Grille.
